Questions About Our Getty Villa Tours
For our Getty Villa tours, you can have anywhere between 1 to 15 persons in your reservation. Simply find out how many you have committed to coming with your group and then use our online tour reservation system and submit the request for your tour.
Oasis charges an $11 per person reservation processing fee for everyone 5 years of age or older. These fees are non-refundable. There are no additional museum entry fees other than parking.
Getty Villa parking fees are as follows:
- $25 per car or motorcycle
- $15 after 3:00 pm.

To access the galleries you will simply meet your Oasis guide on the day of your tour according to the instructions you will be sent when confirming your reservation.
Your guide is a volunteer. As such, none of the fees collected go to them. They give your tour at his/her own considerable time and expense. If you wish to show appreciation for this substantial sacrifice, a monetary gift would help a lot.
Tours are based on tour guide availability. Wednesday-Sunday. We book tours in 15 minute increments between 10:00 am and 1:30 pm, subject to availability.
Your tour will be about 3 1/2 hours, including a 1/2 hour break for bathroom and food. You should plan on your total museum experience, including check-in, etc., to take about 4 hours.
Unfortunately we can not honor requests for specific guides. However, if you are personal friends with one of our guides, you can arrange a tour through them.

Questions About Planning Your Getty Villa Tour
All tours, regardless of the size of your group, are booked on a first come, first served basis. We suggest reserving your tour a minimum of six weeks in advance for the most availability. However, our calendar extends to a full three months past the current date.
If there are no tours currently available on the date(s) you desire, simply check back as guides are continually making themselves available based on need.
We encourage dignified casual dress with comfortable shoes.
All tours include a break of approximately 30 minutes. You can obtain snacks/meals in the Museum’s Mediterranean inspired cafe or use your own food. (see below)
The Getty Villa allows you to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy at any public seating area. Tables are available outside the Cafe or take a seat in the outdoor theater.
Coolers or picnic boxes larger than 11 x 17 x 8 inches aren’t allowed inside galleries. Please check them at Coat Check in the Atrium before enjoying the exhibitions.
While not a requirement, you will find it helpful to have the JW Library app installed on your portable device, and the New World Translation (Study Edition if available) downloaded in the language corresponding to your tour.
Yes. We encourage you to bring a notebook and pen/pencil to take note of things for your personal encouragement and research.
Yes. Photographs can be taken, however please keep in mind the following:
- As per museum rules, your camera’s flash must remain off at all times.
- As per our arrangement with the museum and in view of certain copyright restrictions, we also require that such pictures be for personal use only. We encourage you to share your experience with family and friends, so private use of your photos is fine. However, no tour participant may duplicate or reproduce the tour contents and/or exhibits for others to use. This includes, but is not limited to, distributing copies of your photos on digital media of any kind, or sharing them electronically.
No. Audio/video recording of your guide, their commentary, or other members of your group is not allowed during your tour.
No. You may not post any of the guided portions of your Oasis tour on any social media or electronic platform.
No. You may not reproduce any guided portions of your tour without the express written consent of Oasis Biblical Tours.
To protect the artworks, bags and backpacks smaller than 11 x 17 x 8 inches must be carried on the front or side of your body. Backpacks, umbrellas, bags, purses, and packages larger than 11 x 17 x 8 inches must be checked at Coat Check in the Atrium. Child carriers worn on the back are also not allowed in galleries and must be checked.
Please note that all bags may be subject to security inspection. Hazardous materials (e.g., pepper spray) and weapons of any kind are prohibited and cannot be checked.
Yes, wheelchairs are available for free rental on a first-come, first-served basis in the Entry Pavilion. Additionally, you may bring your own wheelchair or rolling walker.

Where is the Getty Villa located?
The museum is located just outside of Los Angeles, CA
The address is: 17985 Pacific Coast Hwy, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272
The museum is open six (6) days a week as follows:
- Wednesday-Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The museum is closed on:
- Tuesdays
- January 1st (New Years Day)
- Early closing on New Years Eve
- July 4th (Independence Day)
- Thanksgiving Day
- December 25th (Christmas)
- Early closing on Christmas Eve
Parking Lot: The museum itself has a parking lot that is open 24 hrs. You can enter the lot at the corner of 80th St and 5th Ave.
Street Parking: There is also parking available on a limited basis on the streets surrounding the museum. However, please do not park at metered locations as you cannot leave the tour every hour to renew your parking meter.
Yes. The best way to do so is to take the green 4/5/6 (Lexington Ave) subway line and get off at 86th St. Simply walk 3 blocks West to 5th Ave and 4 blocks South to the museum entrance on 82nd St. and 5th Ave.
Reminder: On weekends all aspects of the NYC public transportation system run on reduced schedules. Please plan appropriately if you plan on using public transportation to reach the museum.
